CBD Effects: What Are The Effects Of CBD?

Most everyone is familiar with the effects of THC effects—that’s the cannabis compound that makes you hear colors (among other things). Science calls that “psychoactive”. We just call it good fun. But what about CBD effects? Is CBD equally as psychoactive? This article will answer that question and discuss the effects that CBD has to offer. But first, it’s important to delve into the multi-syllabic world of chemistry and chemical compounds in order to get to know what makes marijuana work.

What Is Cannabis Made Of?

Cannabis is made up of chemical compounds called cannabinoids. Perhaps the best-known cannabinoids are tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD). But those aren’t the only two. Other lesser-known cannabinoids include cannabigerol (CBG), cannabichromene (CBC), and cannabicitran (CBT). The nomenclature gets even more convoluted when those broad categories are further subdivided into such compounds as cannabinerolic acid A, cannabichromevarinic acid A, and cannabinol methyl ether.

More broadly, cannabinoids fall into three categories:

  1. Phytocannabinoids (found in the cannabis plant)
  2. Endocannabinoids (found naturally in the body)
  3. Synthetic cannabinoids (manufactured artificially)

Scientists have isolated 113 different phytocannabinoids (the natural kind) from the cannabis plant. Bet you can’t name them all! All joking aside, to truly understand CBD effects, it’s essential that we know what cannabinoids do.

Honey Oil: Everything You Need To Know

For decades, if not centuries, smoking was the best, most convenient method of reaping the benefits that marijuana had to offer. Joint or bong—it didn’t really matter. Smoking and marijuana went hand in hand. Then, just 16 short years ago, dabbing exploded onto the scene and with dabbing comes honey oil.

If you’re not familiar with the process, dabbing involves vaporizing a marijuana concentrate and then inhaling the resultant fumes. And while that may not sound much different than the smoking that preceded it, dabbing was a giant leap forward in the consumption of cannabis products.

Dabbing was a revolution in the world of weed because of one little word: concentrate. And no, that’s not the verb that means to focus. Rather, it’s the noun that means a stronger, more potent version of the original.

Dabbing usually involves shatter or wax. But these novel forms of marijuana have to come from somewhere. That somewhere has become known, among other things, as honey oil.

Purple Weed: Everything You Need To Know

Purple weed seems to be the holy grail that everyone is searching for these days. And they’re doing all kinds of crazy things to get it. But is there really any extra benefit to the purple hue, or is it all just bunk? And is it even possible to produce the coveted purple color by giving the plant something extra, taking something away, or tweaking the conditions in which the weed is grown?

We’ll answer those questions, and more, in the following article.

Myths About Purple Weed

Myths about purple weed abound. Most of those myths revolve around how the famous purple hue is achieved when growing marijuana. The most common myths include:

  • Oxygen deprivation
  • Carbon dioxide deprivation
  • Nitrogen overload
  • Altering the light cycle
  • Changing the growing medium
  • Varying the amount of water

Let’s look at each one in turn.

Cherry OG Strain Guide

The Cherry OG Strain is truly an original ganja blend. A cherry flavored hybrid with a diesel aroma that can take you back in time to feel like an OG hanging out in a hazy cloud of smoke.

Fans of the strain say it gives you a uniquely balanced body and mind high with an enjoyable cherry flavor that isn’t too overpowering. It achieves this dank result by being a 50/50 hybrid of Sativa and Indica strains.

Sativa is known for its euphoric, cerebral high that has you focused and coming up with your best ideas while Indica brings with it a body high that relieves pain and can induce some serious couch lock. Mix the two together and you get a mind blowing combo at first puff.

True to its name the first thing people notice about this unique bud is that it is smaller and darker than most and has a visibly reddish tone. It’s quite reminiscent of, well, what else? Cherries!  The Cherry OG strain is the child of Cherry Thai, Afghani, and Lost Coast OG. Let’s explore more about this uniquely balanced bud and see what it has to offer.

Kandy Kush Strain Guide

Anything with “kandy” in its name has to be good, right? Right! The Kandy Kush strain is no exception. This sweet-flavored hybrid produces a distinct lemon scent—very “Kushy”, as one user put it—when smoked and, since first being produced, has become a popular medicinal strain because of its potent high and strong pain-relief quality.

But the sweetness isn’t only restricted to its name or its smoke—sometimes the bud even looks like candy. The oranges, greens, browns, and purples combine to give this strain a decidedly rock-candy-like appearance. Just imagine this bud on a stick, ready to be licked, and you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Kandy Kush has a lot to offer (and a lot to be desired), so let’s spend a bit of time getting to know the sweetest of the sweet.

Kandy Kush Strain

History Of The Strain

Kandy Kush is a hybrid strain originally produced by DNA Genetics and created by crossing two indica and sativa powerhouses:  OG Kush and Trainwreck. It’s original, and most common, form is predominantly indica-dominant (about 60%) thanks to its OG Kush parent. Other forms that pop up now and again, hold more of a likeness for the Trainwreck side of the family and display decidedly sativa structure and characteristics. That said, the indica-dominant strain of Kandy Kush is by far the most common and is what people are jonesing for when they need to satisfy their sweet tooth. Newer strains introduce even more of a candy vibe with flavors like cotton candy, rock candy, caramel candy.
